Emphasis on History
Savannah has played an integral part in the defense and development of the United States for almost 300 years. See forts, gracious homes, and the City Market area as you travel the unique layout of Savannah, designed by founder James Oglethorpe.

From the American Revolution to the 1996 Olympics to the last G8 Summit, Savannah has played hostess to some of the most incredible people on earth. Did you know that Woodrow Wilson was married here? Or that Benjamin Franklin was our representative in Europe? Facts and figures become real as our guides interpret the history of the city and its people.
